UPS Distribution Facility
The United Parcel Service has trusted O&S with more than 50 projects at more than 25 locations with a combined construction value in excess of $20 million.
O&S has provided:
- Exterior Wall Repairs and Waterproofing
- Structural Repairs and Modifications
- NYC Local Law 11 Inspections & NYC Local Law 26 Compliance
- Emergency Action Planning
- Municipal Consulting
- Paving
- Roofing
The distribution centers and information data centers are primarily located in their “Northeast Region” that spans from Maine to Virginia. O&S began working with UPS because we found solutions to improving and repairing their buildings without impacting operations. This has required special consideration of shoring, phasing, and other design and construction challenges.
We have solved problems related to corrosion related deterioration, storm water management, water infiltration, disaster response and emergency action plans, and municipal inspections.
We have been trusted with UPS’s most challenging projects including:
- $9 Million Dollar Structural Repairs to a 1940’s building originally constructed for the Port Authority. The entire roof with supported parking was “tented” and a false ceiling was constructed to maintain operations during construction.
- $8.6 Million Dollar Structural Repairs to a 1960’s Distribution Center while maintaining operation of over 300 package cars
- Development of an Emergency Action Plan to be filed with the City of New York Fire Department
- Planning Services to expand the John F Kennedy Airport Hub
- Structural Design of a scheme to jack the roof of a distribution center in Massachusetts to increase capacity and provide a mezzanine.
- Civil design of various parking and paving improvements including planning board submissions and traffic improvements.
