The University of Pennsylvania

O&S Associates, Inc. is currently the design engineer for The University of Pennsylvania Museum parking garage restoration. The project is an $8 million renovation of the 650-space parking garage, which was constructed in 1970.

The garage consists of three cast-in-place concrete ramp segments that sandwich two precast concrete parking decks. The precast segments consist of pre-stressed, single tee beams that are topped with field cast concrete.

O&S Associates provided assessment, design, bid, and CA services to the University of Pennsylvania for the Museum garage restoration program. The restoration included structural repairs to the cast-in-place concrete segments, repair to the precast deck, installation of a new waterproofing membrane throughout the garage, upgrade to a new LED lighting system, and exterior masonry and concrete repairs. The garage was fully open during repairs and a comprehensive phasing and site protection plan was developed to allow use of the garage during the repairs.
