The Administration Building is a four-story stone clad building located on the campus of the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. The building is comprised of two separate sections. The original building was constructed in 1916 and is referred to as the Administration Building. The addition was constructed in 1922 and is known as Hendricks Hall. At the request of the client, we developed two separate repair and maintenance programs for the two building sections.

The façade consists of rough “rock-faced” stones and smooth “honed” stones at sills, trims, cornices, etc. The stone façades have undergone significant age- and weather-related damage and deterioration, such as stone scaling and spalling. In addition to the deterioration observed at the stone façades, we also identified failed sealants along window frames and cracked and debonded mortar joints.

O&S provided a detailed condition assessment report and developed a comprehensive façade repair and maintenance program designed to address the observed deterioration. A complete waterproofing program was also recommended to mitigate water infiltration, which includes sealant replacements and provisions for a water repellant surface sealer over the stone façades.
