The Whitehall Apartment Building

The Whitehall Apartment Building was experiencing extensive water infiltration problems and wide cracking in the brick masonry facade.

• O&S Associates performed a survey of the building exterior using swing-stages and developed a repair program for the façade. O&S developed repair drawings and technical specifications and provided periodic observations during construction.
• The restoration of the exterior façade repairs was comprised of structural repairs, replacement of through wall flashings on east elevation walls, the replacement of cracked and deteriorated brick masonry, the addition of epoxy grouted masonry ties, tuck-pointing of deteriorated mortar joints, caulking of all windows, cleaning and coating the entire building and installation of temporary sidewalk protection/bridge.
