O&S is proud to announce that Suchi Jayasena, PE, and Andy Wilson, PE, have been certified as Qualified Parking Structures Inspectors (QPSI) by the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB). Suchi is a Principal and the Chief Structural Engineer, and Andy is a Principal and Regional Director, of O&S Engineers & Architects. To become a QPSI, a candidate must be a Professional Engineer and have a minimum of three years of experience in relevant structural analysis and parking structure repair and undergo a formal interview demonstrating their knowledge of structural engineering of parking structures and the NYC Building Code and Rule requirements regarding parking structures.
To comply with the newly implemented Periodic Inspection Requirements for NYC Parking Structures (Local Law 126), owners of multi-car parking structures are required to have their structure inspected by a QPSI every six years and file a report with DOB.
