Entry Level Mechanical Engineer – 0-2 Years of Experience

O&S Associates, Inc. is a full-service Engineering and Architectural Design firm that is recognized for our expertise in building restoration and rehabilitation. We are seeking entry level Mechanical Engineer interested in facility mechanical design and project management. Candidates will gain experience with the assessment, design, and construction of HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, filtration units, air handlers, and DX systems; plumbing engineering design including piping systems,drainage systems; and delegated fire protection design for new construction or restoration.

Our firm works in many settings including low-rise and high-rise residential buildings, office complexes, retail locations, warehouses, parking garages, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and agencies including NYC SCA, NYC DDC,DASNY, and others.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field surveys in existing building and prepare technical reports of your findings
• Design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Perform design calculations
• Select equipment for use in building systems
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, mechanical, and other disciplines
• Produce construction drawings in the latest version of AutoCAD
• Produce BIM models in the latest version of Revit
• Produce detailed technical specifications and bid documents
• Maintain verbal and written communication for the project

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Conversant in engineering, architectural, and construction principles
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
