The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) retained O&S as its on-call engineering consultant for its entire portfolio of parking garages and lots in Philadelphia, PA. PPA selected O&S to develop a renewal program for the seven garages that it operates at the Philadelphia International Airport. The scope of work for each garage included(s); condition assessment, developing condition reports and construction cost estimates (CCE), design (CDs and specifications), bidding services, and construction observation and administration. In total, O&S has provided services for approximately 11,450 parking spaces and four million square feet of supported floor slabs.
Highlights include:
Completion of a comprehensive condition assessment of all parking garages and development of a 10-Year Master Plan for the restoration, renewal, and improvements to the garages.
C Garage – Constructed in 1974. Five supported floors. Field-topped, precast concrete construction. Approximately 1,800 spaces (625,000 square feet). Completed comprehensive $10 million restoration and renewal program in 2018 that came in under budget.
D Garage – Constructed in 1974. Five supported floors. Field topped, precast concrete construction. Approximately 1,650 spaces (575,000 square feet). O&S has developed construction documents for the comprehensive restoration of Garage D and will be assisting the Authority in bidding and CA for construction.
O&S has also provided services to the Authority to assess and repair deficient conditions at their surface parking lots.
