Under New York City’s Local Law 87 (LL87) of 2009, the Rutherford House was required to complete an energy audit, building retro-commissioning, and file an LL87 Energy Efficiency Report with NYC DOB by December 31, 2015.
ENERGY AUDIT
The energy audit sought to make targeted recommendations to improve energy efficiency. The Energy Audit was performed in compliance with both the requirements of Local Law 87 and ASHRAE 90 and the prevailing national industry standard for energy audits. This level of service required under ASHRAE 90 and the National Energy Conservation Code exceeds the requirements of NYC local law 87 and is a unique value added by O&S.
RETRO-COMMISSIONING
O&S provided an actionable report to restore performance and operations of energy consuming building systems to their intended level of service. The corrective work was required for compliance with NYC law, however it also reduced waste and improved comfort to the ultimate benefit of the residents. O&S assisted the corporation in implementing our recommendations and certified the completion in order to file the Energy Efficiency Report with the City of New York.
