The Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), on behalf of various stakeholders, requested a high-level feasibility study for a parking garage in the vicinity of Camden Yards near Oriole Park. The MSA identified two possible locations for the garage. The target number of spaces in the garage is approximately 3,000 spaces. The garage is intended to be used for both special events and daily use.
RK&K and O&S were retained by the Maryland Stadium Authority to review the selected sites and provide garage and site layouts, narratives, pros and cons, and preliminary costs for the garage and associated improvements. The team developed six (6) options and evaluated each site based on traffic, utility, cultural, and environmental impacts. Additionally, the team ensured that all options met current ADA requirements for sloping, parking requirements, and access. Additionally, the team developed pedestrian ingress/egress options to the stadium which included pedestrian bridges, elevator and stair layouts, as well as pedestrian corridors. The design team delivered a feasibility report documenting their findings for each option including impacts each option would have to the surrounding areas, magnitude construction costs, and parking layout plans
