The Main Street Parking Deck in Norristown was built in 1984 to support the County Courthouse and local businesses; and is the primary parking area used by County Jurors. PSx recently installed its third generation of Amano McGann equipment in the facility; featuring Amano’s newest product line, the OPUS Series.

As is often the case with parking structures, the PARCS have been upgraded over the years, but costly structural repairs and other upgrades were put on hold until they absolutely had to be done. In 2014, the Garage underwent an extensive structural repair and rehabilitation that included new elevators and low-voltage LED lighting. During that process, the facility was modernized from a standard Cashiered exit to an automated Central Pay operation, with the installation of the OPUS Series.

The OPUS Series features innovative 2D encrypted barcode technology, and an intuitive user-guidance system. Dynamic color displays and voice announcements guide the patrons through the entry, payment, and exiting processes. But perhaps the feature most beneficial to the Main Street Parking Deck has been the eFlexPrint Validation System. eFlexPrint enables the County to create widely customizable QR barcoded validations that can be printed in bulk quantities, or individually on-demand. These validations can even be emailed to the end user; who can then either print remotely or simply present the emailed QR code directly from their smart phone at the FlexScan QR400 barcode readers installed in each of the Garage devices. This feature has been hugely beneficial for the Garage’s Juror Parking Validation Program.
